Osaka, Japan – The Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI) in Osaka tallied a total of 1,001 votes cast out of the 11,243 eligible overseas voters in Osaka for the 2025 National and Local Elections at the end of the month-long overseas voting exercise on 12 May 2025.
The election tally in Osaka was successfully transmitted to the Special Board of Canvassers (SBOC) in Tokyo at 9:35 PM. The tally of votes was held at the Consulate General and witnessed by Ms. Roxandel Derecho, a registered watcher of PDP-Laban, and Consulate personnel.
The SBEI Osaka reported a voter turnout of 8.9% at the end of the voting exercise on 12 May 2025 at 8:15PM (JST). Among the eligible overseas voters in Osaka, 1,058 have pre-enrolled online.
This is the first time that online voting has been used in Osaka as a mode of voting since the start of overseas voting in 2004.
The COMELEC has deputized election officers in Osaka to perform election duties for the 2025 National and Local Elections.

following: Consul General Voltaire D. Mauricio as Chair, Vice Consul Rie Sheena C. Au Yeung as Poll Clerk, Ms. Jereme F. Lagura as Third Member, and Deputy Consul General Melchor P. Lalunio, Jr., as Alternate Member.
The members of the Special Ballot Reception and Custody Group (SBRG) in Osaka comprised Vice Consul Christy Fe C. Conta as Chair, Mr. Charlie V. Nabo as Member, Ms. Catherine A. Placia as Member, and Mr. Jose Juancho A. Perez as Alternate Member. END.
