Consul General Voltaire D. Mauricio and Hon. Tsutomu Okubo, Mayor of Kurume City, Fukuoka

01 NOVEMBER 2021, KURUME CITY - Philippine Consul General in Osaka Voltaire D. Mauricio paid a courtesy call on Hon. Tsutomu Okubo, Mayor of Kurume City, Fukuoka.

Both Mayor Okubo and Consul General Mauricio took note of the Consular Outreach Mission of the Philippine Consulate and acknowledged that this was a milestone as it was the first Philippine consular outreach mission to ever be held in Kurume City.

On his part, Consul General Mauricio conveyed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to Mayor Okubo for his support and cooperation for the success of the consular outreach mission together with the assistance of the Filipino communities in Kurume City and Fukuoka City.

During the consular outreach mission conducted on October 30-31, 2021, the Philippine Consulate General processed 472 passport, 4 civil registry, and 43 notarial applications.

At present, there are 1,550 registered Filipinos residing in Kurume City, the second largest group of foreigners in the city.   Kurume City hosts Filipino technical trainees in the fields of nursing care and the agriculture industry. END.
