Applicants for Marriage Licenses are only for Filipinos (either residents or tourists) who wish to get married at the Philippine Consulate General in Osaka.

If you fall under the following categories you should apply for Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage (LCCM) instead:

• If you are a Filipino who would marry a Japanese National or a Non-Japanese Foreign National
• If you are both Filipinos who would get married at any City Hall in Japan

Appointment at the Consulate

Applicants must have a confirmed appointment schedule before coming to the Consulate.

Processing Time

• During your application, the processor will ask you on the date you intend to get married. 
• The Consulate provides solemnization services every Tuesday and Wednesday at 2:30 in the afternoon.
• After your application, there is a 10-day wedding bann or publication at the Consulate to announce your planned marriage and to ensure that there are no legal impediments.
• Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the time of the solemnization to give time to prepare the documents and pay for the applicable fees.
• After the solemnization, the couple would sign the Marriage Contract and Report of Marriage.
• The Marriage Contract and Report of Marriage will be mailed within two to four weeks after the solemnization.
• The PSA copy of the Report of Marriage will be available within six months to one year.

• Affidavit of Civil Status ¥ 7,500 (for two)
• Affidavit of Parental Consent / Affidavit of Parental Advice ¥  3,750
• Solemnization of Marriage ¥  9,000
